The Process

Phase 1:
Site Preparation and Setup
The AeroBarrier process begins with preparing the job site, ideally after drywall installation and between the initial and final mudding stages.
To protect finished surfaces like windowsills and countertops, plastic or tape is used, and openings such as fireplaces and air vents are sealed to prevent unintentional sealing.
Next, seal stations are strategically positioned throughout the interior of the house to ensure an even application of sealant.

Phase 2:
Pressurization
A blower door is installed and is connected to a centrifugal fan via. The AeroBarrier seal stations, fan, and laptop are wirelessly connected to the main control unit (MCU) that controls/monitors the seal in real-time.
An initial blower door test is performed to measure pre-seal ACH (Air Changes per Hour), the target ACH is inputted into the computer, and the seal begins.

Phase 3:
Sealing Process
The AeroBarrier seal stations installed throughout the building are remotely activated, and begin to spray a nontoxic, aerosolized sealant into the area. Positive pressure pulls the sealant into any leaks, effectively sealing cracks up to ½ inch.
Continuous blower door monitoring checks the ACH50 (Air Changes per Hour at 50 pascals of pressure) every 10 seconds, and once the desired ACH is achieved, the seal stations are turned off.

Phase 4:
Sealing Report and Cleanup
Once the sealing process is finished, the AeroBarrier software produces an Envelope Sealing Report to confirm the ACH. This report is archived for future reference, if required.
Protective coverings on windowsills and countertops are taken off, allowing work to continue in the house just 30 minutes later.
